happy halloween from green acres...

Life imitates life….
It didn’t take much for my husband and I
to play the roles of “Oliver and Lisa Douglas...”

From the 1960s sitcom, “Green Acres.”
{thriftstore nightgown and robe..Flower Factory feather boa and pink pig..Sam and Libby heels}
The premise of the show was that a wife is dragged unwillingly
 from the city to a ramshackle farm…hmm…sounds familiar…

I don’t recall seeing any of these on the streets of New York City?!

Only on our farm will you find pink feathers in the barn…
as I took some fab Sam and Libby heels and
 adorned them with pink feathers.
{vintage rhinestone and pearl jewelry}
Throw in some rhinestones and pearls…
It’s starting to feel a little more like home.
Is green acres the place for me...for us...??

anyone...anyone...

{NY&CO tee..Vera Wang shorts..Hue tights..Wet Seal boots}
Just as I obsessed over being able to wear a tutu in real life…
I have been fixated on wearing shorts with boots.

Inspired by Sloane Peterson, from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off...
I purchased these shorts several months ago anxiously anticipating
the moment that I could wear them.

As the weather was about turn bleak later in the week…
I saw my opportunity and donned them for a trip to
town to work on our Halloween costumes.

Bueller…? (lol...)

back in time...

For my husband’s birthday…
I surprised him with a trip to the theater to see…
 the 25th Anniversary viewing of “Back to the Future.”
{The Limited boyfriend blazer..my brother's BTTF tee..NY&CO skinny jeans}
I kept my blazer closed…as not to spoil the surprise!
{The first photo was taken afterwards}
{Apt.9 booties..Steve Madden bag..men's Aviators..OPI's My Private Jet polish}

{Premier & vintage bracelets...XOXO watch...Daisy Fuentes earrings}
Since we were going back-in-time
I took him to Dave & Buster’s afterwards for
some child-like fun, games, and munchies.

hurry up...and wait...

With my husband’s business, I often get stuck in a
 “hurry up and wait” game.
 He calls as he’s “supposedly” walking out the door,
asking if I would like to run to town with him…
giving me 20 minutes to make myself presentable for society.
So, even though I know I may have more than 20 minutes …
as he rarely makes it out clinic door without
answering one more question or taking one more call…
I’ve come to depend on a uniform-of-sorts for such occasions.
{Apt.9 jeans..NY&CO tee..Cato jacket..House of Dereon bag..NY&CO watch..Apt.9 booties..F21 sunnies}
Inspired by stylist, Rachel Zoe…this “uniform” consists of
trouser-style jeans..long tee..and  jacket...effortless chic!
{NY&CO necklace..Target ring}

But…then…you won't hear me complain about going to town!

happy birthday...to me!

I celebrated my birthday this week by spending the day shopping…
one of my most favorite activities.
Unfortunately, my husband was home to capture the “damage” on film!?

Who says wheel barrels are just for farming anymore??

{NY&CO Pleather Jacket..Kohls Plaid Shirt..Lauren Conrad Skirt..Apt. 9 Booties..Steve Madden Bag}
Ever since last Halloween when I wore a black tutu…I’ve been obsessed…
so I found this practical version saved just for this special day.

Here’s to another year…

welcome to...my life?

Five years ago I made several trips to New York City...with plans of moving my two Yorkies and I there. A year later...we were living in….
the middle of Amish country?!
Didn't see that coming!?!
{Macys' Dress..Maurices' Tank...Levi Jacket..Mudd Boots..Charlotte Russe Earrings & Gift Shoppe Bracelet}
Since then I’ve been lost…and not just physically…but we do
live on a 65-acre farm!?
The first time I visited NYC…I was maneuvering like I’d always lived there…
here…I can get lost trying to find the driveway!?!

But, as you can see, we survived...and I am excited about the opportunity to share with you our adventures in taking two totally different lifestyles and
as Tim Gunn says..."make it work!"
